LoL Meta FAQ
What 'meta' means on this page, how rankings are produced, and how often they update.
How is the LoL meta ranking calculated?
Rankings are built from aggregated ranked match data — win rate, pick rate, and ban rate across relevant elo brackets — filtered to the current patch so you're not mixing in outdated picks.
How often does the meta data refresh?
The dataset refreshes on each new patch and re-pulls live stats multiple times per day so same-patch shifts (like a buffed champion spiking in win rate) appear quickly.
What counts as a 'meta' champion on this page?
Any champion with a statistically significant pick rate plus a win rate at or above the patch average. Low-pick, high-win 'pocket pick' champions are surfaced separately.
Can I filter the meta list by role?
Yes. Top, jungle, mid, ADC, and support each have their own ranking because the same champion can be S-tier support but off-meta mid — role-specific filters avoid that confusion.
Why does a champion's tier differ between sites?
Different sites weight win rate vs pick/ban differently and pull from different elo bands. This page leans on solo-queue data across ranked tiers and publishes the formula so rankings stay reproducible.
